World Championship, 1977

The 1977 season of the World Trial’s Championship saw a tight battle of 4 contenders,  Yrjö Vesterinen (Bultaco), Ulf Karlson (Montesa), Malcolm Rathmell (Montesa) and Martin Lampkin (Bultaco).
Finally the title went to Vesterinen for the second time in a row…
We had the irruption of Honda, machine developed by the legend Sammy Miller, mounted by Shepherd and Whaley (5th. and 10th).
Also, we had the addition of a very promising young American value: Bernie Schreiber.
Bultaco brought the 190 model with little changes from older models, and Montesa came in with a better version of the successful Cota 348.
